Special Olympics Washington has teamed up with Little Bit Therapeutic Riding Center to create an equestrian program serving Washington State Special Olympic Athletes!

Training for Special Olympics riders who are pre-registered in Little Bit’s Spring Session, April 29 - June 24, 2019
Competition for four events: Equitation, Pole Bending, Dressage, and Showmanship on Friday, June 28, 2019
Outreach to other PATH-certified therapeutic riding centers in Washington during the PATH Region 9 conference in early June.

Q. What does it cost to compete in this year’s Special Olympics competitions?
A. There is no additional cost beyond what families are paying for the regular spring session costs.
Q. Which events will be held for this year’s Special Olympics competition?
A. The same ones as last year: Equitation, Pole Bending, Dressage, and Showmanship
Q. How many events may a rider sign up for?
A. This will likely depend on how many riders wish to compete in our Special Olympics competition. We will begin signups for the Special Olympics competition the first week in June.
Q. Can a rider participate in both Special Olympics and Pat Flynn Horse Show?
Q. Is there a per-event charge for each Special Olympics event like there is for Pat Flynn?
A. No, that admin fee that is used for t-shirts, ribbons, etc., will be covered by grants received by Little Bit to support our Special Olympics riders.
Q. What form does a Special Olympics rider need to be part of the program?
A. Each athlete needs to provide a copy of the Special Olympics Athlete Medical Form (found here: http://media.specialolympics.org/resources/health/disciplines/medfest/MedFest-Health-History-and-Physical-Exam-Form-NON-US-Programs-fillable.pdf) to Little Bit ASAP.
