Horsemanship Programming for Little Bit Volunteers

Horse Body Score and Weight

Thursday, September 3 from 5:30-7:30 PM

Have you ever wondered how we monitor our horses’ weight? What does a fat horse look like? Or a skinny one? Especially when there are many different breeds and body types. This groundwork clinic will go over the horse body condition score (BCS) using a weight tape, and what we look for to make sure our horses are in their best physical condition.

Horse Communication and Behavior

Wednesday, September 9 from 4:30-6:30 PM

Horses communicate just as much as humans do, but they don’t have spoken language. How do we learn to listen to what they are telling us when we don’t speak the same language? Come learn why Gemma makes a snarky face in the tack barn and why Hank loves to snuggle. Participants will discuss “good” vs “bad” behavior and have a better understanding of the horses we partner with every day.

FEES:

Each lesson is $50. Please pay at the front desk when you check in for each lesson.

CANCELLATION pOLICY: 

If you need to cancel your registration for these lessons, please contact us as soon as possible. If you cancel within 24 hours or less, a $20 cancellation fee will be charged. If you no-show to the lesson(s) you have registered for, a $20 no-show fee will be charged. We may end up with a wait list for these lessons, so we appreciate any advanced notice for cancellations.
