Linda “Lindy” Reinke was born on April 17. It was on her birthday in 1992 that she began riding at Little Bit Therapeutic Riding Center. She became friends with many people, including Margo O’Callaghan. The following is a page from her journal that her sister, Dianne, shared with us. Lindy passed away in 2025.

Horses have always been fascinating to me.  I've always wanted to learn to ride well and to be around horses.

On April 17, 1992 (which also happens to be my birthday)  I started English riding lessons.  Now that the spring session has ended at the Little Bit Riding School,  I find that my interest in horses has magnified. I learned so much from my instructor Annie. She made lessons so much fun. She taught me the proper posture, how to hold the reins properly, how to do the rising trot and even how to play polo. The volunteers taught me how to bridle, saddle and groom the horses. I feel so happy when I spend time at the stable. The staff,  the other riders and even the barn animals make me feel so welcome. Annie is always praising my progress and during one lesson she even said that I was awesome! That comment made me feel great.  I will be in a horse show in July, and whether or not I win a medal, I feel like I've got a big blue ribbon pinned on my riding shirt.
