Please see below for more information, and be sure to register early - our camps tend to fill up fast!

Come one, come all to Little Bit’s Summer Camp! Open to traditional and non-traditional students of all experience levels, this inclusive program is designed for fun, educational engagement with horses.

Each day of camp, campers will have a riding lesson from a PATH Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor. In addition to riding, with the support of our Camp Counselors, campers will do a range of unmounted activities with Little Bit herd members. This includes leading, grooming, bathing, stable management, feeds and feeding, and so much more!

Camp is open to current Little Bit clients and the wider community. Individuals do not need prior riding experience to participate.

Little Bit Summer Camp operates a 5-to-1 camper-to-staff ratio. We strive to operate an inclusive camp that allows for success and enjoyment of each camper.

TIME:

Camps are held in July and August, Monday through Thursday, 9AM to 1PM. Campers may bring a lunch to eat with fellow campers from 1:00-1:30. Please keep in mind that lunch will not be provided by Little Bit.

ELIGIBILITY:

Little Bit is accredited through the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship Intl. (PATH), and we follow their guidelines for precautions and contraindications to adaptive horseback riding. For a complete list of precautions and contraindications, please see the Physician’s Form.

The weight limit for all Little Bit riders is 190 lbs. This is to ensure the health of our horses. The camper’s weight will be checked at their assessment. Little Bit reserves the right to decline registration for any rider.

Campers must be able to use the restroom independently and feed themselves independently, or restroom and feeding assistance must be provided by the camper’s family. Little Bit staff are unable to help with restroom use or provide feeding assistance.

For specific questions regarding eligibility, please contact the front desk at (425) 882-1554 or Kelsey Klemm kklemm@littlebit.org.

FEES AND ASSESSMENTS:

The registration fees will be determined at the start of the year. The fee for 2025 was $675. Payment is required with registration form.

Riders who have not previously participated at Little Bit will be required to be assessed by a Little Bit instructor. Riders who have not ridden at Little Bit in the past year may require an assessment at the discretion of the Camp Coordinator. The assessment fee is $90. You will be contacted after your registration is processed to set up an assessment date.

At the assessment, the instructor will be able to determine the camper’s riding level, how much support he or she will need and what camper group would be the best fit. The assessment will include working in the barn, riding and time to sit down and talk. Assessments will begin in April.

Little Bit does not accept DDA/DSHS funds, insurance or provide financial aid for camps.
