THE 32nd pat flynn horse show

Friday, june 28 and Saturday, June 29, 2019

The first Pat Flynn Memorial Horse Show was held April 25 & 26, 1987 at Gold Creek Stables in Woodinville, WA. There were over fifty riders from Oregon, Washington, & Canada competing in equitation, jumping, dressage and obstacle classes. The show was named in honor of Pat Flynn, a former Little Bit student who had passed away the previous year. Pat made a bequest to Little Bit to assist in building our Woodinville facility, where we hosted the annual show until 2013 when we moved to Redmond.

The show hosts over a hundred competitors each year. Classes currently being offered are: Equitation, Obstacle, Barrel Racing, & Costume. Classes are divided by age, skill level, & the amount of assistance needed to ride.

This year we will hold our 32nd Annual Pay Flynn Memorial Horse Show! The show will run from approximately 1pm to 5pm on Friday, June 28 and from 9am to 3pm on Saturday, June 29. We hope many of you will be able to join us as competitors, supporters, and volunteers.

The show will be followed by our annual summer BBQ event!

CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

Equitation:  A class judged by age group with all entries competing together at the same time.  Good posture and body position, control of the horse, riding skills, and proficiency are rewarded.

Obstacle / Trail:  This class consists of a series of obstacles for the rider to maneuver through, over, and around.  To be judged 70% as equitation and 30% on performance of the horse.

Obstacles may include: Cones, circles, cavaletti, open mailbox, backing, ring on pole, bridge, barrels, “L”, gate, figure 8, and questions from the judge.

Barrel Racing: A timed clover-shaped pattern ridden around 3 barrels. A fun way to show your riding skills.

Halter Obstacle Course This class is open to volunteer leaders and riders who are able to lead their horse. They will demonstrate leading skills through the obstacle course with no tack, just a halter and lead rope.

Costume Class:  A great way for each rider to express himself or herself!  All costumed riders will show off their “talent” at a walk only.  (You can dress up your volunteers, too!)
