Equine-Facilitated Therapy: An Introduction

Tuesday, May 28, 2019

Tuesday, June 11, 2019

*Only necessary to attend one.

Are you a mental health provider in the Greater Seattle Area? Little Bit Therapeutic Riding Center, a Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International-accredited facility, works with licensed mental health providers interested in including interactions with horses in their practice.

Working with horses offers a memorable experience, and creates a space where communication and relationship patterns can be explored in a profound way, and reapproached in real time within the novel situation of interaction with the horse. This complements your main approach to therapy and accelerates parts of the process beyond what can happen through more theoretical work.

Join us to learn more about this approach! We will cover why you -- as a mental health professional -- would want to partner with horses, how the paradigm works, and how it can be useful to your particular methodology: CBT, psychotherapy, play therapy, art therapy, marriage & family therapy, etc.

No past horse experience is needed to do this work as a mental health professional – you will be well-supported. Little Bit’s equine-facilitated therapy approach works within the diamond model: you bring your mental healthcare practice, and a certified equine specialist guides you and your client through working with the horse.

Mental health professional requirements to practice EFP at Little Bit:
