Jenny
Nell Schulte is an accomplished Dressage and
Three Day Event rider and trainer, with more than 30 years of competition
experience. She started in Therapeutic Riding almost 20 years ago with
Fran Joswick Therapeutic Riding Center in California, as the Head Instructor.
She spent 2 years as the Executive Director of REINS in San Diego before
moving to the Seattle area to become the Head Instructor at Little Bit
Therapeutic Riding Center. In 1993, Jenny took a leave of absence to pursue
training and competition goals. In 1999, she returned as Program Director
and now manages a staff of 6 instructors, 180 riders and 17 program horses. |
Tracy
McConnachie has worked at Little Bit for 14 years. She began
as a volunteer in September of 1991, became the volunteer coordinator
in March of 1991 and is now a full-time registered riding instructor.
She thoroughly enjoys teaching and is delighted when a rider picks up
the reins for the first time to guide their own horse through obstacles,
over poles and for the first time, asks their horse to walk on. |
Polly
Cohen is a NARHA registered riding instructor with 15 years
of riding, teaching and showing experience. She moved from Oregon to Washington
to work at Little Bit the end of 2002. |
| Marci Bender grew up in central Pennsylvania
and studied Therapeutic Recreation at the Pennsylvania State University
where she also rode and competed on the Intercollegiate circuit. Before
coming to Little Bit, Marci worked as a Therpeutic Riding and Adaptive Skiing
Instructor in Park City, Utah. She obtained Advanced instructor certification
from NARHA at Equest in Wylie, Texas. Marci, who is also a Certified Therapeutic
Recreation Specialist, joined the Little Bit team of instructors in March
of 2004. |
| Christie Rankin, who hails from Virginia,
earned her degree in Therapeutic Recreation from Georgia State University
in 2002. For over 10 years Chrristie has worked with people with disabilites
in many capacities. In the past, she has worked at a residential treatment
center for at-risk yourth in Florida; a Therapeutic Recreation Aide at The
Shepherd Spinal Center in Atlanta; and a Therapeutic Riding Instructor in
Park City, Utah. She became a reigistered NARHA Instructor in 2003. Christie
came to Little Bit first as a coordinator for the Pacific Science Center
Summer Camp in 2004, and permanently in the fall of 2004 as an instructor. |
Deborah
Culver began volunteering in therapeutic riding in 1997. In 1998,
she received her registered certification and was an instructor at Equifriends
in Snohomish until 2001. She joined the staff of Little Bit in 2001 as
a part-time instructor and manager of the summer inclusive horse camps.
She is currently pursuing a Masters in Counseling Psychology. |
