History Dressage

Born in Ohio, Bear spent his formative years training in dressage. He advanced quickly for a young horse, teaming up with his rider to compete at the US Dressage Federation FEI Young Rider level (equivalent to Prix St Georges). When he came to Washington in 1997, a series of injuries temporarily sidelined him from the ring.

He found a home at Little Bit in 2001 where he now teaches his dressage skills to riders. Bear excels in walk, trot, canter classes and emerging walk, trot classes. Due to his ability to collect and carry his weight on his hind end, Bear is often a first choice for riders beginning to learn the canter.
